What Exactly is Public Relations Anyway?

Whether you are the public relations professional or the client, there is one thing both need to grasp and agree on: the duty of public relations within the project at hand.

 
Many times, the business owner or professional does not understand the value of public relations, nor why they should invest in a well thought-out plan.
 
Public Relations is not a well thought out scheme to twist an image into a beautiful untruth. Public Relations IS the basis for all relationships made between an organization/person and all their constituents.
 
The goal of public relations is not to increase sales, but to support the sales and marketing departments.  The real focus of public relations is to find ways to have a conversation with those who are involved or effected by the organization.
 

Remember you are in a partnership with the different departments within the organization.  The Marketing team gives the overall goal of the organization’s financial progress; then advertising, public relations and personal sales step up, each with their own goals, to achieve success.   READ THE FULL ARTICLE
