Art Directors Club Features Pomegranate Designers in Cube Project

October 18, 2010 by Nate Winter

As the old saying goes, it’s hip to be square. But then, what does it mean to be cube? For four Pomegranate designers featured in the Art Directors Club Cube Project, it means well-earned recognition for excellent design.

The Cube Project is a design competition hosted by the Art Directors Club in which designers submit their artistic interpretations of the organization’s cube icon. It’s part of the ADC’s 90th awards this year, recognizing groundbreaking work within in the club’s membership. The top 5 cube designs are featured in print and digital communications sent out to the ADC’s entire membership of over 150,000 designers and art directors nationwide.

Among the Cube Project’s featured finalists are four Pomegranate team members: James Donaldson, Joe Hajek, Ean Mering and James Zimmer. While each design is clearly inspired by the same ADC cube icon, the end results couldn’t be more different. See for yourself:

Pomegranate's Joe Hajek received an honorable mention for his design, and all the Pomegranate cube designs are on display at the ADC gallery in New York City from now until October 22nd.
