Pomegranate's HP Brand Channel Chosen as One of YouTube's Best
June 21, 2010 by Matthew Finio
Show and Tell, a new site that describes itself as “home of the best creative marketing examples on YouTube,” has chosen a Pomegranate-designed brand channel for HP as a case in point.
A brand channel itself, Show and Tell is run by YouTube in association with the Art Director’s Club, the 89-year-old association that recognizes and celebrates excellence in the world of advertising and marketing. The ADC’s mission is to “connect, provoke and elevate.”
Designed by Pomegranate in 2009 for IT company HP’s “You on You” project, the HP Your Story brand channel featured a contest inviting users to create and share YouTube videos that expressed who they are. Contestants were encouraged to use new YouTube video creation tools to help assemble their entries and one of the few restrictions was to not include their own faces.
Each of 100 semifinalists received an HP Artist Edition Notebook PC and 20 finalists received $2500. Winners received $40,000 for first place, $20,000 for second and $15,000 for third place.
Pomegranate CEO Grant Powell appreciates the recognition but isn’t surprised. “Our team consists of extremely talented creative professionals," he said. "They are dedicated to producing engaging and visually compelling destinations for our clients that get people excited about their brands.”
The “You on You” project was so popular that HP is currently soliciting ideas from users about where to take the channel next. Check out some of the winning videos here, and learn more about how Pomegranate creates YouTube brand channels here.
